Selena Gomez’ New Song: IS it about Justin Bieber?

Earlier this week, Selena Gomez dropped a new song titled “Lose You To Love Me” and many are speculating that she was singing about her ex-lover Justin Bieber. Recently, Justin Bieber has gotten married to Hailey Baldwin (now Bieber) after being together since July of 2018. The idea of this started when Selena’s fans started to leave hate on Hailey Bieber's Instagram. This led to Selena commenting “I am so thankful for the response of the song. However, I will never stand for women tearing other women down so please be kind to everyone.” While live on Instagram. Although things between Hailey and Selena seem to be tamed, peoples still speculate her new song is to Justin.




So, the only way to find out is to look at the lyrics to her new hit single.

Verse 1
You promised the world and I fell for it
I put you first and you adored it

Set fires to my forest
And you let it burn
Sang off-key in my chorus
Cause it wasn't yours


This seems to say a lot about her and Justin’s relationship. In this verse, Selena talks about how she was "promised the world". Saying she fell for it, would mean she was lied to. She was hurt with no one trying to help her heal 'set fires to my forest, and you let it burn". Recently, Justin has also opened up about his past relationships saying “I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry, I became distant to everyone who loved me, and I was hiding behind a shell of a person that I had become. I felt like I could never turn it around.” And it seems like Selena is telling her side of the toxic relationship. Which she has been known to comment on her first love being one-sided and a wild ride.

Like it was easy


Anddd this is where everyone made the assumption that she is writing about Justin Bieber. After Selena and Justin’s split in May 2018, Justin sparked a new relationship with now wife, Hailey Bieber. This happened in June of 2018, and they were engaged by September. This verse seems a little to close to not call. The time period between the two is almost exact, and plus, who else would she be talking about? Justin seemed to have no remorse for him and Selena's relationship. 


But, after all of the drama happening these last few days, Justin had something to say. On Instagram he posted “I absolutely loved and love Selena she will always hold a place in my heart, but I am head over heels in love with my wife and she is absolutely the BEST THING that has ever happened to me period.” At the end of the day, at least everyone is getting along.
